About The Position

The Digital Solutions Specialist is a field-based customer implementation and training professional responsible for helping customers adopt and effectively use Ormco’s digital orthodontic products and workflows. The role partners with doctors, practice teams, Ormco Field Representatives, Clinical Education, Clinical Success, Customer Support, and other internal stakeholders to move customers from commercial commitment through implementation and repeatable utilization. It does not own the commercial sale or primary account relationship; its primary accountability is to help committed customers become activated, confident, and consistent users of Ormco solutions. After a commercial handoff, the specialist assesses practice readiness, develops customer-specific implementation plans, delivers product and workflow training, supports initial case submissions and product use, and helps resolve early adoption barriers. The specialist remains a product and workflow resource during implementation and coordinates a documented transition to the appropriate ongoing support owner. The role also manages implementation activity across an assigned geography, documents plans and outcomes in designated systems, collaborates across internal functions, gathers customer feedback, and contributes field insights to improve onboarding and training. Performance is measured by activation and implementation outcomes rather than direct sales quotas. Frequent travel throughout the assigned geography, including overnight travel, is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • At least three years of experience in orthodontics, dentistry, medical devices, clinical training, customer implementation, customer success, or a related field.
  • Experience training, coaching, or supporting clinicians and practice teams in a customer-facing environment.
  • Ability to learn and communicate technical, product, and workflow information.
  • Experience managing multiple customer implementations, training engagements, or field-based projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM or customer-management systems.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently throughout an assigned geography, including overnight travel.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, coaching, and adult-learning skills.
  • Ability to establish credibility with clinicians, sales professionals, and internal partners and to translate technical and clinical concepts into practical workflows.
  • Strong customer orientation and commitment to a consistent implementation experience.
  • Effective project-management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage concurrent implementations.
  • Strong problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence outcomes without direct authority and work independently in a field-based environment while contributing to regional and national teams.
  • Sound judgment in determining when issues require clinical, technical, quality, regulatory, or leadership escalation.
  • Ability to use customer and implementation data to prioritize activity and improve outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an orthodontic or dental practice.
  • Experience with clear aligner treatment processes, intraoral scanning, digital orthodontic workflows, or related dental technologies.
  • Previous experience with Ormco products, Spark Clear Aligners, Ormco Digital Bonding, intraoral scanners, or comparable orthodontic solutions.
  • Clinical, dental assisting, dental technology, treatment-coordinator, or practice-management experience.
  • Experience delivering in-person product training and coaching in a clinical or practice setting.
  • Experience supporting product onboarding, implementation, adoption, or customer utilization within the dental or medical-device industry.

  • Train orthodontists, general practitioners, clinical team members, treatment coordinators, and other practice personnel on relevant products, systems, and workflows.
  • Translate technical product information into practical, repeatable practice workflows and adapt training to customer needs while maintaining program standards.
  • Provide virtual follow-up training and contribute to standardized implementation guides, training resources, checklists, and customer-facing tools.
  • Guide customers through setup, workflow preparation, and readiness for first use.
  • Support initial case submissions, approvals, and early product utilization within established role boundaries.
  • Monitor implementation milestones, address delays and barriers, and coach customers during early implementation.
  • Confirm activation and implementation criteria are met and coordinate a clear, documented handoff to Clinical Success, Customer Support, or another long-term owner.
  • Serve as a regional subject-matter resource for Ormco digital orthodontic products and associated workflows.
  • Provide first-line product and workflow guidance, identify adoption barriers, and coordinate escalation of technical, clinical, quality, or customer-service issues.
  • Track customer issues and facilitate follow-through until ownership and next steps are clear; report complaints through established company and quality processes.
  • Coordinate with Field Representatives while preserving their commercial account ownership; communicate implementation status, risks, milestones, and activation outcomes to Sales.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Education, Clinical Success, Customer Support, and Technical Support to support accurate training, sustained utilization, and resolution of specialized issues.
  • Provide implementation and training guidance to internal Ormco teams.

  • Document implementation plans, activities, milestones, risks, outcomes, and handoffs in designated CRM or implementation-management systems.
  • Manage a field schedule and customer activity across an assigned geography; prepare required implementation, activity, expense, and status reports.
