About The Position

The Digital Solutions Specialist is a field-based customer implementation and training professional who accelerates the adoption and effective use of Ormco’s digital orthodontic products and workflows. The position partners with doctors, practice teams, Ormco Field Representatives, Clinical Education, Clinical Success, Customer Support, and other internal stakeholders to guide customers from commercial commitment through implementation and repeatable utilization. The role does not own the commercial sale or primary account relationship; its primary accountability is to help committed customers become activated, confident, and consistent users of Ormco solutions. After a commercial handoff, the specialist assesses practice readiness, creates a customer-specific implementation plan, delivers product and workflow training, supports initial case submissions and product use, and helps address early adoption barriers. The specialist provides product and workflow guidance during implementation, coordinates issue escalation and customer handoffs, documents progress and outcomes, and shares customer and field insights that can improve onboarding and training. The role manages customer activity across an assigned geography and requires frequent travel, including overnight travel. Performance focuses on activation and implementation outcomes rather than direct sales quotas. Measures may include readiness and onboarding completion times, time to first case or product use, activation rates, milestone completion, utilization progression, repeat utilization, implementation cycle time and backlog, training completion, customer satisfaction, successful transitions to ongoing support, and documentation accuracy and timeliness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • At least three years of experience in orthodontics, dentistry, medical devices, clinical training, customer implementation, customer success, or a related field.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM or customer-management systems.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently throughout an assigned geography, including overnight travel.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, coaching, and adult-learning skills.
  • Ability to establish credibility with clinicians, sales professionals, and internal partners, and to translate technical and clinical concepts into practical workflows.
  • Strong customer orientation, project-management and organizational skills, problem-solving ability, written and verbal communication skills, and ability to manage concurrent implementations.
  • Ability to influence outcomes without direct authority and work independently in a field-based environment while contributing to a coordinated team.
  • Sound judgment in determining when an issue requires clinical, technical, quality, regulatory, or leadership escalation.
  • Ability to use customer and implementation data to prioritize activity and improve outcomes.

  • Experience with clear aligner treatment processes, intraoral scanning, digital orthodontic workflows, or related dental technologies.

  • Support the development and continuous improvement of implementation guides, training resources, checklists, and customer-facing tools.
  • Guide customers through product setup, workflow preparation, and readiness for first use.
  • Support initial case submissions, approvals, and early product utilization as appropriate to the product and role boundaries.
  • Monitor progress against implementation milestones, address delays and barriers, and provide hands-on coaching during early implementation.
  • Confirm activation and implementation criteria before coordinating a documented handoff to Clinical Success, Customer Support, or another long-term owner.
  • Provide first-line product and workflow guidance as a regional subject-matter resource, identify adoption barriers, and coordinate escalation of technical, clinical, quality, or service issues.
  • Track open customer issues and facilitate follow-through; review and report customer complaints through established company and quality processes.
  • Coordinate implementation activity with Ormco Field Representatives while preserving their commercial account ownership; communicate implementation status, risks, milestones, and outcomes to Sales.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Education, Clinical Success, Customer Support, Technical Support, and other internal teams to ensure accurate training, resolve issues, and support sustained utilization.
