About The Position

VEC is a construction technology services provider that partners with contractors, engineers, and developers/owners across the United States to improve project delivery. This position establishes and oversees BIM/VDC program requirements for owner-driven projects. Depending on experience and qualifications, the role may be hired at the Manager or Senior Manager level. It defines digital delivery frameworks and standards, and coordinates design and construction stakeholders to support consistent delivery aligned with owner expectations across projects and phases. The role serves as the primary owner contact for digital delivery program matters and oversees VEC’s digital delivery scopes at the program level. It translates owner objectives into requirements and actionable scope for VEC service lines, establishes governance and Common Data Environment practices, manages program documentation and reporting, monitors compliance, risk, timelines and resourcing, and provides technical direction on digital delivery tools, workflows, model and field data, and future facilities-management or digital-twin deliverables. The position also supports proposal and contract scope definition, program reviews, internal standards, and capability development.

  • Strong understanding of project financial aspects, including budgeting, forecasting, and accounts receivable management.
  • Ability to develop and enforce SOPs for efficient project execution.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with 4D/5D integration concepts, not execution.
  • Experience in healthcare, mission-critical, aviation, higher education, or large public-sector programs.
  • Familiarity with ISO 19650 or other digital delivery standards.
  • Understanding of digital-twin and FM data structures.
  • Lean construction exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Define program-level BIM/VDC requirements with owners, design teams, and contractors, translating owner objectives into clear requirements.
  • Develop and maintain each program’s Digital Delivery Framework, including standards, expectations, workflows, and governance rules.
  • Establish documentation standards, naming conventions, file structures, LOD matrices, and model audit processes.
  • Set up and govern the Common Data Environment, including permissions, workflows, coordination model structure, and milestone gates.
  • Conduct BIM/VDC discovery and evaluate existing project conditions.
  • Define 4D/5D integration expectations, including rules, inputs, and requirements, without performing scheduling or cost modeling.
  • Serve as the primary owner contact for Digital Delivery Program matters and facilitate alignment among owner objectives, design intent, fabrication needs, and field execution requirements.
  • Document decisions, requirements, and constraints affecting digital delivery; review and validate VDC scope expectations with design partners, trade contractors, and owner consultants.
  • Coordinate with third-party BIM/VDC vendors to ensure compliance with program standards.
  • Translate owner and program requirements into actionable scope for VEC Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Civil, Coordination, On-Site QC, Scanning, and Implementation teams.
  • Participate in internal kickoffs, pre-planning, and milestone check-ins for active VEC scopes; verify service-line alignment with program standards, workflows, and deliverables.

  • Oversee execution of VEC Digital Delivery scopes at the program level and maintain visibility into timelines, risks, resourcing needs, and dependencies.
  • Track compliance with program-wide standards, workflows, and owner requirements; facilitate program reviews, alignment meetings, and reporting to ownership teams.
  • Escalate major risks, design coordination issues, and technical blockers early, with recommended solutions.
  • Define the technology stack for digital delivery and support development of digital-twin requirements and asset data structures.
  • Direct how design data, construction models, and field data should connect across the lifecycle; evaluate workflows for constructability, clash avoidance, risk mitigation, and early design issue detection.
  • Maintain program knowledge bases, templates, and lessons learned; define FM/digital-twin deliverable requirements early.
  • Maintain controlled and shared program documentation, including playbooks, BIM execution plan frameworks, standards logs, issue logs, model audit reports, LOD matrices, technology stacks, shared parameters, metadata, readiness, sequencing, model development, gap-scope, reporting, and FM/digital-twin considerations.
  • Standardize deliverables, workflows, and reporting across service lines and contribute improvements to internal SOPs and enterprise standards.
  • Support scope definition, clarifications, and assumptions during proposals and contracts; identify opportunities for VEC service lines to add value through early involvement.
  • Review project performance, risk exposure, and alignment with VEC operational standards; advise leadership on resource needs, service-line improvements, and capability development.
