About The Position

The Dietary Services Manager is responsible for meeting the nutritional needs of facility residents in a safe, resident-focused manner. The role oversees dietary department operations, staff, food supplies, menus, regulatory compliance, and participation in resident-care and facility quality processes.

Requirements

• Current ServSafe certification.
• Certified Dietary Manager certification, or eligibility to take the exam.
• One year of experience in a skilled nursing facility, assisted living, or continuing care retirement community kitchen leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Develop menus that meet requirements for variety and rotation of menu items.
• Order raw food and food preparation supplies.
• Supervise department staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance appraisal.
• Participate in budget development and adhere to the budget.
• Ensure department compliance with food safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor resident weights and participate in the resident weight committee.
• Participate in morning meetings, the QAPI Committee, and care conferences.
• Complete MDS assessments in a timely and accurate manner.
• Communicate effectively with nursing home staff.
• Perform other duties as requested.
