About The Position

The Dietary Aid supports food service operations by delivering food carts to patient floors in a specified order and returning them to the dish room at designated times. The role includes participating in tray-line assembly, washing certain items by hand, operating the dish machine, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the work area, floors, and kitchen. The Dietary Aid must understand food sanitation and safe food handling and service techniques, as well as proper lifting and kitchen safety practices.

Requirements

• Be able to read, write, and communicate in English and Spanish.
• Demonstrate commitment to and adherence to the STHS Compliance Program and Code of Conduct, including following policies and procedures, attending required training, and promptly reporting suspected compliance issues to the Compliance Officer.
• Obtain food-handler certification from the City of McAllen or Edinburg, depending on the facility, or accreditation from the State of Texas and ANSI, upon hire or within 14 days of employment.
• Be familiar with food service equipment and have working knowledge of food sanitation and acceptable food handling and service techniques.

• High school diploma, GED, or higher education.
