About The Position
Transport Refrigeration Services is seeking a skilled, motivated Fleet Service Truck Technician to maintain and repair trucks, trailers, refrigeration systems, and APU units. The role supports a fast-paced fleet maintenance operation, helping ensure vehicles are reliable and road-ready. The company provides fleet maintenance and refrigeration solutions for the transportation industry, including system installations, maintenance, and repairs. The position is based at the TRS Gordonsville location in Gordonsville, Virginia. The listed hourly pay range is $30.50–$37.00. A $2-per-hour differential is offered for night shifts, with additional hourly pay for certain ASE certifications. Reefer unit experience is a plus. Requirements
- Have a clean, valid driver’s license.
- Possess or obtain a toolbox and required tools.
- Have at least one year of shop experience performing DOT annual inspections or brake work, or have a technical school certification.
Nice To Haves
- Reefer unit experience.
- ASE certifications in brakes, suspension, or preventive maintenance; additional hourly pay is offered for these certifications.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on trailers, trucks, refrigeration systems, and APU units.
- Troubleshoot and repair fuel, electrical, drivetrain, brake, suspension, and cooling systems.
- Replace brakes and service trailer ABS systems.
- Complete FHWA inspections and tire services, including mounting, balancing, and repairs.
- Repair trailer bodies, rear doors, and structural components.
- Clean trailer interiors and exteriors.
- Service APU units and perform general road service.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Operate forklifts, hoists, and company or customer vehicles.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
