About The Position
Transport Refrigeration Services is hiring a Truck Technician to service and maintain trucks, trailers, refrigeration units, and APUs. The technician performs preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and road service while helping keep customer fleets safe and road-ready. The role is based in Wintersville, Ohio, and offers flexible shift options of three 12-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts. Shift differentials apply to second and third shifts, with additional hourly pay for specified ASE certifications. Reefer unit experience is a strong plus.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Obtain a toolbox and required tools.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience performing DOT inspections, brake work, or preventative maintenance, or completion of a technical school program.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to quality work.
Nice To Haves
- Reefer unit experience.
- ASE certifications in brakes, suspension, or preventative maintenance, which qualify for additional hourly pay.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on trailers, trucks, refrigeration units, and APUs.
- Diagnose and repair fuel, electrical, drivetrain, brake, suspension, and cooling systems.
- Replace brakes and service trailer ABS systems.
- Perform FHWA inspections, tire mounting, balancing, and repairs.
- Repair trailer bodies, doors, and structural components.
- Complete interior and exterior trailer cleaning.
- Service APUs and perform general road service as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Operate forklifts, hoists, and company or customer vehicles.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
