About The Position

TravelCenters of America is hiring a Diesel Technician for its Truck Service team. The role provides accurate and efficient service by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers in a professional, accommodating manner. Technicians help return travelers to the road by completing repairs within their capabilities and following Truck Service standard services and specialized customer programs. The work takes place in a service environment that may involve outdoor elements, fumes, particles, mechanical parts, vibration, loud noise, and exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, gas, and concentrated cleaning solutions. The position may include other duties, and the job description may be revised.

Requirements

Good verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
A valid driver’s license.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Ability to work in interior and exterior conditions.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a repair or parts shop is preferred.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
Provide accurate, efficient, professional, and accommodating service to customers.
Maintain knowledge of the products sold and services provided.
Diagnose wear conditions and make recommendations to customers together with a TSA or Manager.
Complete repairs within the technician’s capabilities and as written.
Understand Truck Service standard services and specialized customer programs.
Follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members or customers.
