About The Position

As a Diesel Technician on TravelCenters of America’s Truck Service team, you will provide accurate and efficient service to customers by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers professionally and accommodatingly. The role helps return travelers to the road better than they came. Team members work in a service-focused environment, learn the company’s products and services, and follow applicable safety guidelines. The position may also involve other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Ability to work in interior and exterior conditions.
• A valid driver’s license.

• Previous experience in a repair or parts shop.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
• Maintain extensive knowledge of the products sold and services provided.
• Diagnose wear conditions and, together with a TSA or Manager, make recommendations to customers.
• Complete repairs within the technician’s capabilities and as written.
• Understand Truck Service Standard Services and specialized customer programs.
• Follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members or customers.
