About The Position

As a Diesel Technician on TravelCenters of America’s Truck Service team, you will provide accurate and efficient customer service by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers in a professional and accommodating manner. The team’s goal is to return every traveler to the road better than they came. The role involves working in a service-focused environment, understanding the company’s products and services, identifying vehicle wear conditions, and making repair recommendations with a TSA or Manager. Technicians complete repairs within their capabilities and as written, follow Truck Service Standard Services and specialized customer programs, and observe safety guidelines. Work may take place indoors and outdoors, with exposure to weather, mechanical parts, fumes, noise, and shop materials.

Requirements

Good verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Ability to work in interior and exterior conditions.
Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a repair or parts shop is preferred.
Works well with others and is excited to be part of the team.

Responsibilities

Provide accurate, efficient service to customers by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
Maintain knowledge of products sold and services provided.
Diagnose wear conditions and make recommendations to customers together with a TSA or Manager.
Complete repairs within the technician’s capabilities and as written.
Understand and follow Truck Service Standard Services and specialized customer programs.
Follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members or customers.
Provide service in a professional and accommodating manner, with the goal of returning travelers to the road better than they came.
