About The Position

The Larson Group Peterbilt is seeking an experienced Diesel Service Technician to perform the functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair mechanic under minimal supervision. This is a safety-sensitive position. The technician performs diagnostics and repairs, documents repair work, maintains a clean and safe work area, and supports training and shift handoffs.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Possess or be able to obtain a Class A CDL; the position responsibilities also specify obtaining and retaining a Class A or B CDL during employment.
Motor Vehicle Record must adhere to TLG MVR Guidelines.

Nice To Haves

College degree, or a certificate or degree from a trade school; preferred but not required.
Experience in a related field; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic and mechanical repairs on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components.
Test completed repairs to ensure they were performed properly.
Train new technicians.
Follow safety rules and company policies.
Communicate with the Service Foreman about parts unavailable for repairs.
Download and save to Paccar Solutions/Decisiv all pictures, engine files from before and after repairs, and diagnostic tests used to perform repairs.
Document troubleshooting steps, results of repairs, and other relevant repair information in detail.
Save warrantable parts; tag, wash, box, and submit them to the correct location, labeling boxes with the repair order number, serial number, customer name, and date.
Maintain a clean and safe work area and clean and return tools used.
Advise technicians on the following shift of special instructions or concerns identified during repairs.
Meet efficiency and productivity goals set by the Service Manager.
Maintain a Peterbilt online training percentage of 95%.
Obtain and retain a Class A or B CDL during employment.
Perform other assigned duties and repairs.
