About The Position

WM is hiring a Diesel Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair diesel equipment and, at some locations, CNG trucks. The role supports WM’s collection and service operations by maintaining vehicles and equipment used by local communities. Work is performed primarily in a repair and maintenance shop at WM hauling sites in Milledgeville, Georgia, with some work outdoors. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with no weekends. The listed starting pay is $25–$32 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Be over 18 years of age.
Legally eligible to work in the United States.
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
Estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs and new parts.
Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
Respond to emergency breakdown service calls.
Perform vehicle safety checks.
Complete required paperwork documenting parts usage and repair times.
Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA standards and established safety procedures.
