About The Position

Complete Auto Repair - Cottleville, a GreatWater Garage, is seeking an experienced A-Level Automotive Diagnostic Technician to diagnose complex vehicle problems, perform high-quality repairs, and provide accurate, honest service. The shop offers modern tools, diagnostic equipment, service advisor support, consistent workflow, and a team culture that respects technician expertise and emphasizes fixing root causes rather than replacing parts unnecessarily. The technician will handle advanced diagnostics and repairs across electrical, engine performance, fuel, ignition, drivability, drivetrain, steering, suspension, brake, and HVAC systems. The role includes completing Digital Vehicle Inspections, mentoring less experienced technicians, maintaining a clean and professional work environment, maintaining 90% or greater labor productivity, and serving as a technical leader within the shop. The position is based at 5161 Highway N, Cottleville, MO 63304. Shop hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST. Flexible hours or days, including evenings and weekends when the shop is open, may be required, and additional time may be needed based on business needs. The stated average annual compensation is $67,444–$133,848+, depending on productivity. Requirements

At least 5 years of experience as an A-Level Diagnostic Technician.
Required state and local certifications to legally perform the work.
Current valid driver's license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
Strong diagnostic ability.
Pride in quality workmanship.

Willingness to mentor other technicians.
Has or is willing to earn ASE certifications and work toward becoming a Master ASE Technician.

Nice To Haves

All 8 ASE certifications are preferred: A1 Engine Repair, A2 Automatic Transmission/Transaxles, A3 Manual Drive Train and Axles, A4 Suspension and Steering, A5 Brakes, A6 Electrical Systems, A7 Heating and AC, and A8 Engine Performance.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair advanced electrical and engine performance issues.
Diagnose fuel, ignition, and drivability systems.
Diagnose and repair 4WD and AWD drivetrain systems.
Perform advanced steering, suspension, and brake system repairs.
Perform advanced HVAC diagnostics and repairs.
Complete Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVI) and provide accurate recommendations.
Mentor and support less experienced technicians.
Maintain a clean and professional work environment.
Maintain 90% or greater labor productivity.
Serve as a technical leader within the shop.
