Developer Relations

Cerebras Systems•Sunnyvale, CA

About The Position

Cerebras Systems is seeking an AI Engineer for a hands-on Developer Relations role focused on building with new models, experimenting with developer tools, and explaining technical findings to developers. The role creates prototypes that demonstrate the possibilities of fast inference, optimizes model harnesses, and produces technical content based on practical experimentation. It involves taking projects from an initial question through implementation and testing to a clear, reproducible explanation. The position combines AI application development, model experimentation, technical writing, evaluation, developer education, and feedback. The role works with Product, Engineering, and New Media on launch examples, workshops, and stories, and engages with developers to troubleshoot integrations and improve documentation, examples, and product experience. Cerebras describes its culture as valuing curiosity, integrity, collaboration, ownership, inclusion, and continuous learning.

Requirements

  • A strong portfolio of AI applications, prototypes, technical writing, tutorials, or other substantive developer-facing work.
  • Hands-on experience building with model APIs and debugging AI application workflows.
  • Excellent technical writing skills, including the ability to explain complex implementations or experimental results clearly and usefully.
  • Experience with agent harnesses or related workflows involving prompting, tool calling, context management, and evaluation.
  • An informed perspective on the AI developer ecosystem and curiosity about new models, frameworks, and emerging application patterns.
  • Strong technical judgment, including the ability to design fair comparisons, verify results, and distinguish observations from assumptions.
  • Ability to develop original demo and developer experience ideas and judge what makes examples useful and engaging.
  • Ability to scope projects, ship independently, incorporate feedback, and collaborate with technical and creative partners.
  • Applicants should provide links to code, prototypes, and technical writing, identify their personal contributions, and describe the problem explored and results or lessons learned.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience optimizing latency, responsiveness, or reliability in AI applications.
  • Contributions to open-source projects, developer tools, or publicly available technical examples.
  • Experience teaching developers through workshops, talks, or live demonstrations.

Responsibilities

  • Write blogs, tutorials, walkthroughs, and practical guides based on experiments, explaining implementation choices and how developers can reproduce results.
  • Build sample applications, notebooks, and interactive prototypes that demonstrate the benefits of Cerebras fast inference.
  • Build and improve model-related code and workflows, including prompts, tool use, context management, orchestration, and evaluation; identify bottlenecks and test improvements to speed, reliability, and output quality.
  • Experiment with new models, investigate their capabilities and limitations, compare behavior on realistic workloads, and develop examples and recommendations for developers.
  • Design practical tests, measure results, validate technical claims, and make code reproducible while explaining assumptions, tradeoffs, and limitations.
  • Work with Product, Engineering, and New Media to create technically accurate launch examples, workshops, and stories; present work and help developers understand how to apply it.
  • Engage with developers, troubleshoot integrations, and use recurring questions and friction to improve examples, documentation, and the product experience.
  • Scope projects, deliver work independently, incorporate feedback, and collaborate with technical and creative partners.
