Developer Relations

Cerebras Systems•Sunnyvale, CA

About The Position

Cerebras Systems is seeking an AI Engineer for a hands-on Developer Relations role. The position focuses on building prototypes that demonstrate the possibilities of fast inference, improving the code and workflows around models, experimenting with new models, and turning practical findings into technical content for developers. Technical writing is a core part of the role, and projects span from initial questions through implementation and testing to clear, reproducible explanations. The role collaborates with Product, Engineering, and New Media on technically accurate launch examples, workshops, and stories. It also involves engaging with developers, troubleshooting integrations, and using recurring questions and friction to improve examples, documentation, and the product experience. The description emphasizes curiosity, integrity, collaboration, ownership, and the opportunity to shape how developers understand and use fast inference.

  • A strong portfolio of AI applications, prototypes, technical writing, tutorials, or other substantive developer-facing work.
  • Hands-on experience building with model APIs and debugging AI application workflows.
  • Excellent technical writing skills, including the ability to explain complex implementations and experimental results clearly and usefully.
  • Experience with agent harnesses or related workflows involving prompting, tool calling, context management, and evaluation.
  • An informed view of the AI developer ecosystem and curiosity about new models, frameworks, and emerging application patterns.
  • Strong technical judgment, including the ability to design fair comparisons, verify results, and distinguish observations from assumptions.
  • Original ideas for demos and developer experiences, with a clear sense of what makes examples useful and engaging.
  • Ability to scope projects, deliver independently, incorporate feedback, and collaborate with technical and creative partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience optimizing latency, responsiveness, or reliability in AI applications.
  • Contributions to open-source projects, developer tools, or publicly available technical examples.
  • Experience teaching developers through workshops, talks, or live demonstrations.

Responsibilities

  • Write blogs, tutorials, walkthroughs, and practical guides based on experiments, explaining implementation choices and how developers can reproduce results.
  • Create prototypes, sample applications, notebooks, and interactive experiences that demonstrate the benefits of Cerebras fast inference.
  • Build and improve model harnesses and workflows, including prompts, tool use, context management, orchestration, and evaluation.
  • Identify bottlenecks and test improvements to speed, reliability, and output quality.
  • Experiment with new models, compare their behavior on realistic workloads, and develop examples and recommendations for developers.
  • Design practical evaluations, measure results, validate technical claims, and document assumptions, tradeoffs, and limitations.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and New Media to develop technically accurate launches, workshops, and stories.
  • Present work and help developers understand how to apply it.
  • Engage with developers, troubleshoot integrations, and convert recurring questions and friction into improvements to examples, documentation, and the product experience.
  • Scope projects, ship independently, incorporate feedback, and collaborate with technical and creative partners.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to build a breakthrough AI platform beyond the constraints of the GPU.
  • Opportunity to publish and open source cutting-edge AI research.
  • Opportunity to work on one of the fastest AI supercomputers in the world.
  • Job stability with startup vitality.
