About The Position

SS&C is seeking a Desktop Systems Engineer to provide on-site technical support as part of a client-facing technology support team in the finance industry. The role supports operations for financial services clients and focuses on resolving technical issues while maintaining security and compliance. The position involves managing end-user systems, devices, applications, identity and access tools, security consoles, collaboration platforms, and hardware resources. The engineer will work directly with clients and vendors, escalate critical issues, and recommend process improvements to enhance client satisfaction.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree, or a high school degree and 2 years of related experience.
• Proven expertise in on-site IT support.
• Good understanding and practical knowledge of desktop and notebook computers.
• Good understanding and practical knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications.
• Good understanding and practical knowledge of smartphones, tablets, wearables, and other mobile devices.
• Good understanding and practical knowledge of mobile, web, and cloud applications.
• Good understanding and practical knowledge of virtual desktops and applications.
• Understand the unique challenges faced by front-office financial services.
• Communicate effectively and empathetically.
• Prioritize client needs while maintaining security and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee physical and virtual phones via RingCentral.
• Support multifactor authentication using Duo.
• Manage password protocols using SecretServer.
• Handle physical office passes using Brivo.
• Deploy software and troubleshoot remotely using Endpoint Central by ManageEngine.
• Manage Zoom for desktop and Zoom Rooms.
• Administer VMware Horizon and VMware vSphere.
• Manage users and computers within Active Directory and Entra ID.
• Administer Office 365 on desktop and through the console.
• Use Microsoft Intune for device management.
• Administer the Barracuda email and web filtering console.
• Manage the Trend Micro antivirus console.
• Oversee Adobe Creative Suite operations.
• Ensure smooth printer functionality.
• Deploy and manage hardware resources.
• Escalate critical issues as necessary to ensure timely attention.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance client satisfaction.
• Work directly with clients and vendors.
