About The Position

Morris Technology Solutions (MTS) is seeking a Senior Desktop Engineer contractor to support a healthcare organization with a strong focus on end-user support for physician-facing technologies and mobile device management solutions. This role combines high-touch user support with core desktop engineering responsibilities across a Windows-based environment. The Desktop Engineer will be responsible for supporting ambient scribe and dictation tools, managing and troubleshooting MDM solutions, and ensuring critical clinical applications are functioning reliably for physicians and staff. In addition, this role will support the design, maintenance, and quality control of desktop environments, including image builds and software deployment processes. The ideal candidate is a hands-on senior-level professional who can work directly with end users while also taking ownership of desktop engineering functions.

Requirements

  • Strong experience supporting Windows desktop and laptop environments in an enterprise setting
  • Experience working with Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions (Intune, Workspace ONE, or similar)
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and support end users in a high-touch, user-facing environment
  • Experience supporting application deployments and desktop environments
  • Experience with desktop image builds, maintenance, or quality control processes
  • Solid understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and user access management
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with physicians and clinical staff
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be local and available to work onsite

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting ambient scribe, dictation, or similar clinical technologies
  • Experience in a healthcare or clinical IT environment (MEDITECH experience is a plus)
  • Experience supporting mobile device rollouts and application deployments
  • Familiarity with virtual desktop (VDI) environments
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to support physicians and clinical staff professionally and efficiently

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-touch support to physicians and clinical staff for ambient scribe, dictation, and other clinical applications
  • Troubleshoot and manage mobile device management (MDM) solutions, ensuring devices and applications are properly configured and functioning
  • Assist with application setup, deployment, and support across desktop and mobile environments
  • Ensure reliability and performance of dictation systems and other physician-facing tools
  • Support and maintain Windows desktop and laptop environments across the organization
  • Design, build, and maintain desktop images, including updates and configuration changes
  • Perform quality control and testing to ensure software and images function properly prior to deployment
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity and IT teams to ensure proper access, compliance, and security standards
  • Document configurations, processes, and procedures for consistency and future reference
  • Identify and resolve desktop, application, and device-related issues to maintain system reliability
