About The Position

Depot Tech I is a Service Depot Technician role at Baxter, focused on repairing and maintaining medical devices so hospitals can return them to use. Technicians work independently in a service center, applying troubleshooting skills and building on prior mechanical or technical knowledge. Work includes in-house servicing, repairs, preventive maintenance, and software and hardware updates in accordance with product service manuals and specifications. Technicians document service activity in the appropriate ERP system.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver's license.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to operate and understand the Internet, intranet, and Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a required DOT physical card.
• Prior technical or mechanical repair work.
• Authorization to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

• Applicable technical or trade school training.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning components to ensure medical-device quality and functionality.
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Select and use appropriate troubleshooting software and tools to make adjustments and repairs.
• Accurately record, reconcile, and report service activity in the appropriate ERP system.
• Maintain an organized service work area in alignment with 5S policies.
• Generate service revenue and complete activities required under service contracts.
• Load, unload, and remove medical products weighing up to 1,680 pounds.
• Safely operate a fleet vehicle or company car, from a cargo van up to a 26,000-pound truck.
• Perform in-house servicing, repairs, preventive maintenance, and software and hardware updates according to product service manuals.
