About The Position

The Department Manager serves as the Agronomics expert in the branch and works closely with customers to meet their needs within the department. The role supports the Branch Manager with sales and operations planning, demand forecasting, and supply-and-demand integration; promotes a safe work environment; and oversees inventory principles, customer mix, and sales. The manager develops agronomic staff, encourages teamwork, partners with branch leadership on technology and process improvements, and assists other branch departments and customers as needed.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service and management skills.
• Experience with sales and operations planning and forecasting.
• Understanding of accounting fundamentals, including debits, credits, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and budgets.
• Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies and ways of working.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• 1–3 years of green industry experience and an understanding of agronomic or lawn care maintenance products.
• For internal candidates: Line of Business (LOB) Certification Level I or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Branch Manager with sales and operations planning, statistical demand forecasting, and integration of supply and demand plans.
• Promote an incident-free environment by emphasizing safety and leading by example.
• Encourage a strong safety culture through workplace organization, training, and execution of policies.
• Understand and execute inventory management principles, target customer mix, and sales.
• Create a positive environment that encourages teamwork in alignment with SiteOne DNA.
• Train and develop agronomic staff in the Agronomics product line and customer needs to support departmental sales goals.
• Partner with branch leadership to understand and implement new technologies and ways of working that positively impact business performance.
• Support other branch departments and customers as needed.
