About The Position

The Department Manager is responsible for driving company objectives for profit and loss control, sales performance, customer satisfaction, and shrink results in an assigned store area. The role focuses on developing and leading a team while increasing sales and profits. It combines general operating procedures with individual judgment to ensure the successful operation of the area.

Requirements

3–4 years of retail experience.
Flexibility to work any open store hours.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to motivate others to achieve company goals.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer skills.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and climb throughout the day.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Drive sales and profitability through customer satisfaction.
Ensure all planograms are executed.
Ensure merchandise is properly priced, displayed, and stocked according to appropriate inventory levels.
Supervise, train, and develop staff in the functions required to run the assigned area.
Ensure employees provide outstanding customer service to satisfy customer needs.
Become familiar with and enforce all policies and procedures.
Oversee the assigned area through effective delegation and management of work, employees, time, and resources.
Maintain working knowledge of products and services.
May operate a forklift or industrial truck to assist with loading, unloading, or moving merchandise and materials.
Maintain safety awareness and identify hazards in the store that could affect employees or customers.
Promptly handle customer complaints, questions, or concerns in a professional and friendly manner.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
