About The Position

The Department Manager is responsible for merchandising and sales within the assigned Pet department and for providing the highest level of customer service. The role reports to the Store Manager and requires experience and knowledge of pets and animal care products. The schedule requires availability for days, nights, and every other weekend, and may be irregular.

Requirements

• Experience and knowledge in pets and animal care products.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work an irregular schedule, including days, nights, and every other weekend.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma preferred.
• Customer service training and/or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the merchandising of assigned products.
• Set priorities for distributing new merchandise within the assigned department.
• Ensure adequate inventory throughout the assigned department.
• Assist customers with purchases.
• Work with Retail Buyers to communicate department product needs and other product information.
• Assist with training and directing new department team members.
• Ensure employees and customers practice safety when handling merchandise.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
