About The Position

The Department Manager of the Pets department is responsible for merchandising and sales within the assigned department and providing the highest level of customer service. The role reports to the Store Manager and requires an irregular schedule that includes days, nights, and an alternating weekend schedule. Extensive knowledge of pet products is preferred.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work an irregular schedule, including days, nights, and an alternating weekend schedule.
• Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Frequent bending and twisting.

Nice To Haves

• Extensive knowledge of pet products.
• High school diploma.
• Customer service training and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate merchandising of assigned products.
• Set priorities for distributing new merchandise within the assigned department.
• Ensure adequate inventory throughout the assigned department.
• Assist customers with purchases.
• Work closely with Retail Buyer(s) to communicate assigned department product needs and other product information.
• Assist with training and directing new department team members.
• Ensure employees and customers practice safety when handling merchandise.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
