About The Position

Department Managers are responsible for driving company objectives in profit and loss control, sales performance, customer satisfaction, and shrink results. The role focuses on developing and leading a strong team while increasing sales and profits in the assigned area. It involves hands-on leadership and management, with tasks guided by general operating procedures and individual judgment needed to ensure successful operation of the area.

Requirements

3–4 years of retail experience.
Flexibility to work any open store hours.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to motivate others to achieve company goals.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer skills.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Ability to multitask, coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers in person and over the phone.
Initiative and effective problem-solving skills within the scope of the position.
Ability to prioritize, multitask accurately, adhere to deadlines, and learn in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and climb throughout the day.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Retail management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Drive sales and profitability through customer satisfaction.
Ensure all planograms are executed.
Ensure merchandise is properly priced, displayed, and stocked according to appropriate inventory levels.
Supervise, train, and develop staff in the functions required to run the assigned area.
Ensure employees provide outstanding customer service to satisfy customer needs.
Know and enforce company policies and procedures.
Oversee the assigned area through effective delegation and management of work, employees, time, and resources.
Maintain working knowledge of products and services.
May operate a forklift or industrial truck to load, unload, or move merchandise and materials.
Maintain awareness of hazards in the store that may affect employees or customers.
Promptly handle customer complaints, questions, or concerns professionally and courteously.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
