About The Position

The Department Manager is responsible for driving company objectives in profit and loss control, sales performance, customer satisfaction, and shrink results within the assigned area of a retail store. The role focuses on developing and leading a strong team while increasing area sales and profits. It involves hands-on leadership and management, following general operating procedures, and exercising individual judgment to ensure successful operation of the assigned area.

Requirements

3–4 years of retail experience.
Flexibility to work any open store hours.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to motivate others to achieve company goals.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer skills.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

Drive sales and profitability through customer satisfaction.
Ensure all planograms are executed.
Ensure merchandise is properly priced, displayed, and stocked according to appropriate inventory levels.
Supervise, train, and develop staff in the functions required to run the assigned area.
Ensure employees provide outstanding customer service to satisfy customer needs.
Know and enforce company policies and procedures.
Oversee the assigned area through effective delegation and management of work, employees, time, and resources.
Maintain working knowledge of products and services.
May operate a forklift or industrial truck to assist with loading, unloading, or moving merchandise and materials.
Maintain awareness of hazards in the store that may affect employees or customers.
Handle customer complaints, questions, and concerns promptly, professionally, and in a friendly manner.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
