About The Position

The Department Manager is responsible for driving company objectives in profit and loss control, sales performance, customer satisfaction, and shrink results for the assigned area. The role focuses on developing and leading a team while increasing sales and profits. It involves hands-on leadership and management, applying general operating procedures as well as individual judgment to ensure successful operation of the department.

Requirements

3–4 years of retail experience.
Flexibility to work any open store hours.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to motivate others to achieve company goals.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer skills.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Ability to demonstrate initiative and effective problem-solving within the scope of the position.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and climb throughout the day.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Drive sales and profitability through customer satisfaction.
Ensure all planograms are executed.
Ensure merchandise is properly priced, displayed, and stocked according to appropriate inventory levels.
Supervise, train, and develop staff in all functions required to run the assigned area.
Ensure employees provide outstanding customer service and satisfy customer needs.
Know and enforce all policies and procedures.
Oversee the assigned area through effective delegation and management of work, employees, time, and resources.
Maintain working knowledge of products and services.
May operate a forklift or industrial truck to assist with loading, unloading, or moving merchandise and materials.
Maintain awareness of store hazards to employees or customers.
Promptly handle customer complaints, questions, or concerns professionally and courteously.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
