About The Position

The Sporting Goods Merchandiser supports store merchandising and customer service by processing freight, preparing merchandise, replenishing the sales floor, assisting with product retrieval and loading, and helping maintain organized shop and back-stock areas. The role follows merchandising priorities and coordinates with Specialty Shop Managers and display teams. Associates are expected to contribute to SCHEELS’ employee-ownership culture through personalized customer service, teamwork, adaptability, accountability, honesty, and integrity. The assigned schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
One to three months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to stay organized, multitask, and solve problems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to use judgment and tact and work effectively with all levels of the organization.
Attention to detail.
Ability to perform the listed physical activities with or without reasonable accommodation, including sitting, standing, bending, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, talking, and hearing.
Ability to meet very heavy work demands: exerting more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, more than 50 pounds frequently, and/or more than 20 pounds constantly to move objects.

Responsibilities

Unload product from freight.
Tag, fold, hang, and price merchandise for the sales floor or back stock.
Restock merchandise on the sales floor and bring products to the floor for display.
Assist customers and sales associates with retrieving and loading purchased products.
Follow the Line Leader checklist, walk-through notes, and merchandising guides to prioritize shop needs.
Coordinate with Specialty Shop Managers and display teams on shop moves and mannequin placement.
Maintain orderly store and back-stock areas through general cleaning and organization.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the leadership team and Merchandising Lead.
Work the assigned schedule, which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Follow safety procedures and perform duties in a way that minimizes injury risk.
