About The Position

The Department Manager is responsible for driving profit and loss control, sales performance, customer satisfaction, and shrink results in the assigned area of the retail store. The role involves developing and leading a team while increasing sales and profits through hands-on leadership and management. Work follows general operating procedures but requires individual judgment to ensure successful operation of the assigned area.

Requirements

3–4 years of retail experience.
Flexibility to work any open store hours.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to motivate others to achieve company goals.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer skills.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

Drive sales and profitability through customer satisfaction.
Ensure planograms are executed.
Ensure merchandise is properly priced, displayed, and stocked at appropriate inventory levels.
Supervise, train, and develop staff in the functions required to run the assigned area.
Ensure employees provide outstanding customer service and satisfy customer needs.
Know and enforce company policies and procedures.
Oversee the assigned area by effectively delegating and managing work, employees, time, and resources.
Maintain working knowledge of products and services.
May operate a forklift or industrial truck to load, unload, or move merchandise and materials.
Maintain awareness of store hazards that could affect employees or customers.
Handle customer complaints, questions, or concerns promptly and professionally.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
