Requirements
- Graduation from an approved school of dentistry. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
- Possess a license to practice dentistry issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate oral health by reviewing histories, performing exams, diagnosing conditions, and creating treatment plans
- Provide restorative, surgical, endodontic, and preventative procedures while maintaining infection control standards
- Guide Dental Assistants and Dental Hygienists by offering instruction, reviewing work, and supporting hiring decisions
- Examine schedules, records, and documentation to support patient needs and maintain quality dental operations
- Manage dental supplies and equipment by monitoring levels, approving requests, and ensuring proper security
- Consult with physicians, oral surgeons, and other specialists and refer inmates for specialized care as needed
