About The Position

UTHealth Houston’s School of Dentistry is seeking a part-time Dental Dispensary Assistant for its Bellaire Clinic. The role supports daily clinical operations by maintaining dental supplies and equipment, stocking treatment areas, managing inventory, preparing instruments, and ensuring providers have the resources needed to deliver patient care. The position provides routine skills in dental dispensary operations, central sterilization operations, and patient care. The clinic is located at 6500 W Loop S, Suite 200-A, Bellaire, TX 77401. The schedule is 26 hours per week.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in customer service, central sterilization, or receiving, storing, issuing, and accounting for dental materials and property.

Responsibilities

Clean, disinfect, package, and sterilize dental and surgical instruments.
Order and dispense instruments, dental materials, and supplies to students and faculty.
Set up sterile instrument trays for surgical procedures.
Operate ultrasonic cleaners and sterilizers.
Maintain inventory levels and records.
Assist with periodic or annual inventory as required.
Maintain the security of University property in work areas.
Ensure proper use of and compliance with clinic equipment loan policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
