About The Position

Community Health Partnership of Illinois (CHP), a nonprofit community health organization, is seeking a compassionate and dependable Dental Assistant for its Mendota dental team. The role works closely with the dentist and clinical team to provide welcoming, high-quality dental care to patients from diverse backgrounds and support accessible, culturally responsive care for underserved communities.

Experienced Dental Assistants are encouraged to apply. CHP also welcomes candidates who have completed a dental assisting program or have relevant clinical experience and are eager to develop their skills.

Requirements

• Dental assisting experience, completion of a dental assisting program, or relevant clinical experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with dental instruments, infection-control practices, and sterilization procedures.
• Strong communication and patient-service skills.
• Dependability, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.

Nice To Haves

• Dental X-ray qualification or certification.
• Bilingual Spanish/English skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance during dental examinations and procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care.
• Assist with dental X-rays in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
• Take dental impressions and assist with other laboratory procedures.
• Help patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive dental care.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
• Support appointment scheduling and other dental office functions as needed.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and patient-ready clinical environment.
