About The Position

The Dental Assistant assists dentists and dental hygienists in providing primary care dental services to patients at a clinic or in the mobile oral health unit. The role also supports sterilization, preparation, and inventory control of dental instruments and supplies, and ensures proper infection control in all patient-care areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• Successful completion of a board-approved course in the Dental Practice Act.
• Coronal Polishing Certification.
• Successful completion of a board-approved course in X-Ray.
• Successful completion of a board-approved infection control course.
• Valid BLS certification or higher, following American Heart Association or American Red Cross guidelines.
• If assigned to Mobile Units, a valid California Driver's License is required.
• If assigned to Mobile Units, successful completion of DOJ/FBI background clearance within 30 days of hire is required.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of an accredited course in dental assisting.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
