About The Position

Foxchase Dental Group is hiring a Dental Assistant in Training. The role offers the opportunity to learn new skills from experienced dental professionals and gain valuable experience. Under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist, the trainee learns and performs basic dental assisting duties in accordance with applicable state requirements. The position supports patient care, infection control, clinical procedures, documentation, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements

No prior dental experience is required.

Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Learn and perform basic dental assisting functions under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist and in accordance with the applicable state's Dental Auxiliaries Table of Permitted Duties.
Learn to support the Perfect Patient Experience by helping patients focus on optimal treatment while attending to their individual needs and concerns.
Learn and complete infection control procedures for sterilization and operatory cleaning and disinfection.
Complete radiographs and intra-oral pictures at the dentist's direction after completing all state requirements regarding radiation safety.
Prepare patients and procedure trays, provide basic chairside support, and ensure patients are handed off to the front desk for follow-up appointments.
Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care as directed by the dentist.
Record patient charting and treatment notes in the digital patient chart as directed by the dentist.
Present treatment records, consents, and health histories to the dentist before patient treatment.
Maintain compliance with applicable state, federal, and other regulations, including OSHA, WC, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, DOL, and HR policies and practices.
