About The Position

Fayetteville Smiles Dentistry is seeking a Dental Assistant in Training to learn dental assisting skills from experienced professionals. The role learns and performs basic dental assisting functions under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist and in accordance with the applicable state's Dental Auxiliaries Table of Permitted Duties. The trainee supports patient care, infection control, radiography after applicable state radiation-safety requirements are completed, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements

No prior dental experience is required.

Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Learn and perform basic dental assisting functions under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist and within the applicable state's permitted duties.
Learn to deliver the Perfect Patient Experience by keeping patients focused on optimal treatment while addressing their individual needs and concerns.
Learn and complete infection control procedures, including sterilization and operatory cleaning and disinfection.
Complete radiographs and intra-oral pictures at the dentist's direction after completing all state requirements regarding radiation safety.
Prepare for patient care procedures, including preparing patients and procedure trays, providing basic chairside support, and handing patients off to the front desk for follow-up appointments.
Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care as directed by the dentist.
Record patient charting and treatment notes in the digital patient chart as directed by the dentist.
Present treatment records, consents, and health history to the dentist before patient treatment.
Comply with applicable state, federal, and other regulations and policies, including OSHA, WC, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, DOL, and HR policies and practices.
