About The Position

The Delivery Expert delivers orders by car to customers within a designated area and performs general store-team duties. These duties include operating equipment; stocking ingredients and supplies; preparing products; receiving and processing telephone orders; taking inventory and completing paperwork; and cleaning equipment and the facility. The role involves communicating with customers and coworkers, entering orders by keyboard or touch screen, handling payments, and navigating delivery locations, including private homes and multi-story buildings. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. Flexible scheduling is offered, and the posting describes opportunities for advancement into management and other roles.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record that meets company standards.
• Must have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Must be able to read maps, locate addresses in the delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings.
• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
• Ability to communicate verbally with customers and coworkers to process orders by phone and in person.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly; a calculator may be used.
• Must be able to make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
• Ability to use a computer keyboard or touch screen to enter orders.
• Ability to work alone and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality standards, and make judgments and decisions.
• Ability to perform the physical duties described, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, climbing, bending, crouching, reaching, and driving.
• Ability to carry product during delivery and navigate stairs, potentially five or more flights.
• Ability to work around varying temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
• Ability to talk and hear on the telephone; near, mid-range, far, and night vision; depth perception; and ability to differentiate hot and cold surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products by car to customers within the designated delivery area and to their doors.
• Deliver flyers and door hangers.
• Operate store equipment.
• Stock ingredients and supplies from delivery areas to storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
• Prepare products.
• Receive and process telephone orders, including communicating with customers and coworkers in person and by phone.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
• Use a computer keyboard or touch screen to enter orders.
• Handle monetary transactions and make correct change.
• Navigate delivery routes and locations, including adverse terrain and multi-story buildings.
• Unload and move product and supplies, using a hand truck when needed.
• Perform other store-team tasks as needed, including maintenance and cleaning duties.
