About The Position
The Delivery Driver is responsible for greeting walk-in customers, taking delivery and carryout orders by phone, cleaning, and making deliveries. Drivers are expected to be hardworking, personable, friendly, punctual, and able to multitask. The role requires running, jogging, or speed-walking to and from the car on deliveries and navigating delivery locations while carrying products. Orientation and training are provided on the job, including making deliveries with a store Certified Delivery Trainer. Drivers communicate with customers and coworkers in person and by phone and process orders using a touchscreen computer system. They must have a clear, upbeat speaking voice when communicating with customers.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- Valid driver's license.
- Valid auto insurance.
- A working vehicle.
- Good driving record.
- Ability to communicate verbally with customers and coworkers and take and process orders by phone and in person.
- Clear and upbeat speaking voice when communicating with customers on the phone and at the door.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, and make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
- Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multistory buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying product.
- Hardworking, personable, friendly, punctual, and able to multitask.
- Dependable, reliable, prompt, and responsible; outgoing and energetic; quick learner and self-motivated.
Responsibilities
- Greet walk-in customers.
