About The Position
Ginsberg’s Foods is hiring a full-time CDL A Delivery Driver in Hyde Park, New York. The role pays $32.50–$35.00 per hour, depending on Class A driving experience. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with variable start and end times. Drivers are home every night and have weekends off. Overtime is paid after 40 hours, and compensation also includes quarterly performance and safety incentives. The driver prepares and organizes delivery paperwork, inspects the tractor and trailer, follows the driver manifest, and operates the vehicle in accordance with DOT requirements, traffic laws, and company safety procedures. The role also involves unloading heavy products at customer locations, navigating varied surfaces and stairs, placing deliveries in the appropriate areas, interacting professionally with customers, and handling customer payments when required.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL.
- DOT medical card.
- Safe driving record with no major violations in the past 36 months.
- Ability to lift and maneuver cases weighing 1–80 pounds.
- Ability to navigate stairs, ramps, inclines, and uneven surfaces.
- Ability to work in refrigerated and frozen environments.
Responsibilities
- Report to work on time and prepare for the day's work.
- Organize delivery paperwork and maintain accurate reports and daily logs.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor and trailer in accordance with company policy and procedures.
- Review the daily driver manifest, match manifest invoice numbers with customer invoice numbers, and update or adjust manifests and invoices as necessary.
- Drive safely and courteously while obeying DOT requirements, traffic laws, and regulations.
- Follow company safety programs and practices to protect personal safety, vehicles, and equipment.
- Follow delivery policies and procedures to ensure product accuracy and prevent injury or product damage.
- Physically unload products at customer locations using a hand truck and ramps.
- Navigate varied surfaces, inclines, steps, and stairs to deliver products to appropriate dry, cooler, or frozen locations.
- Interact professionally with customers and attempt to resolve concerns as they arise.
- Receive customer cash when necessary and handle it according to company policy.
