About The Position

Ginsberg’s Foods is hiring a full-time CDL A Delivery Driver in Hyde Park, NY. The role offers hourly compensation of $32.50–$35.00, depending on Class A driving experience. The weekly schedule is Monday through Friday, with start and end times varying. Drivers are home every night and have weekends off. Overtime is paid after 40 hours. The driver prepares and completes deliveries, performs tractor and trailer inspections, drives safely in accordance with DOT requirements and traffic laws, and unloads products at customer locations. Deliveries may involve carrying products to dry, refrigerated, or frozen areas and navigating stairs, ramps, inclines, and uneven surfaces. The driver also maintains paperwork and logs, handles customer interactions and concerns professionally, and receives and handles cash when necessary.

Requirements

Valid Class A CDL.
Valid DOT medical card.
Safe driving record, with no major violations in the past 36 months.
Ability to lift and maneuver cases weighing 1–80 lbs.
Ability to navigate stairs, ramps, inclines, and uneven surfaces.
Ability to work in refrigerated and frozen environments.

Responsibilities

Report to work on time and prepare for the day’s work.
Organize daily delivery paperwork and maintain accurate reports and logs.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor and trailer.
Review the driver manifest and match invoice numbers; update or adjust manifests and invoices as needed.
Drive safely and courteously while following DOT requirements, traffic laws, and regulations.
Follow company safety programs and practices to protect personal safety and company vehicles and equipment.
Follow delivery policies and procedures to ensure product accuracy and prevent injury or product damage.
Unload products at customer locations using a hand truck and ramps.
Navigate surfaces, inclines, steps, and stairs to deliver products to the appropriate dry, cooler, or frozen location.
Interact professionally with customers and attempt to resolve concerns.
Receive and handle customer cash when necessary in accordance with company policy.
