About The Position
The Delivery Driver operates equipment; stocks ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler; prepares products; receives and processes telephone orders; takes inventory and completes related paperwork; and cleans equipment and the facility approximately daily. The role delivers products by car to customers’ doors and distributes flyers and door hangers. Drivers navigate designated delivery areas and varied terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying products. The position requires accurate and quick basic arithmetic, handling monetary change, verbal and written communication, telephone and order-processing skills, computer keyboard or touch-screen entry, and the ability to understand and provide written instructions. It also requires motor coordination for rapid, precise movements and navigation skills to read maps and locate addresses.
Requirements
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, with a calculator if needed.
- Ability to make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands or fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Ability to understand and provide correct written instructions.
- Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders by phone and in person.
- Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Ability to navigate varied terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying products.
