About The Position
The Delivery Driver operates equipment; stocks ingredients from the delivery area into storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler; prepares products; receives and processes telephone orders; takes inventory and completes related paperwork; and cleans equipment and the facility approximately daily. The role delivers products by car to customers’ doors and distributes flyers and door hangers. Drivers navigate the designated delivery area and must handle varied terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying products. The position also requires accurate order processing and customer and coworker communication in person and over the phone.
Requirements
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, with a calculator if needed.
- Ability to make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Ability to communicate verbally with customers and coworkers to process orders in person and over the phone.
- Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying products.
