About The Position

The Deli employee serves AC&T customers promptly and courteously, preparing food and helping make each shopping or dining experience pleasurable. This role is based at Falling Waters Exxon in Falling Waters, West Virginia, and reports to the Kitchen Manager. The position is non-exempt and works in the Kitchen department. The employee assists deli counter customers, prepares and packages food and special orders, and maintains clean, safe work areas. The role requires following company and regulatory food-safety and sanitation procedures and cooperating with colleagues to support customer satisfaction.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Deli counter or food-preparation experience may be required.
Ability to lift items weighing 25 to 50 pounds.
Ability to operate equipment such as meat and cheese slicers, scales, and cash registers.
Excellent customer-service and communication skills.
Ability to understand and follow company procedures and regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.
Courteous and efficient approach to handling customer requests, questions, and complaints.

Nice To Haves

One year of deli or kitchen experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide responsive, exceptional service to deli counter customers by answering questions, making recommendations, offering samples, and responding to requests.
Recommend, slice, weigh, package, and price meats and cheeses.
Prepare sandwiches, subs, salads, and other cold items for resale.
Prepare special orders and party trays.
Prepare work areas for customer service by cleaning surfaces, equipment, and floors; removing trash; and confirming tools are in working order.
Follow food-safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and regulatory agencies.
Cooperate with others to ensure customer satisfaction.
Perform other tasks and duties as assigned or required.
