About The Position

The Deli team member serves customers promptly and courteously while helping provide a positive AC&T shopping and dining experience. The role involves preparing food and deli products for resale, assisting customers with selections and orders, and maintaining clean, safe work areas in accordance with company and regulatory food-handling requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to lift items weighing 25 to 50 pounds.
Ability to operate equipment such as meat and cheese slicers, scales, and cash registers.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to comprehend and follow company procedures and regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.
A courteous and efficient approach to handling customer requests, questions, and complaints.

Nice To Haves

Deli counter or food preparation experience may be required.
One year of deli or kitchen experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide responsive, exceptional service to deli counter customers by answering questions, making recommendations, providing samples, and responding to requests.
Recommend, slice, weigh, package, and price meats and cheeses.
Prepare sandwiches, subs, salads, and other cold items for resale.
Prepare special orders and party trays.
Clean surfaces, equipment, and floors; remove trash; and confirm that tools are in working order so work areas are ready to serve customers.
Follow food safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and regulatory agencies.
Cooperate with others to ensure customer satisfaction.
Perform other tasks and duties as assigned or required.
