About The Position

The Deli employee serves AC&T customers promptly and courteously while preparing food and supporting a positive shopping and dining experience. The position prepares and packages deli products, maintains clean and safe work areas, and follows company and regulatory food-safety procedures. The role is located at the Waynesboro Exxon in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, and reports to the Kitchen Manager.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to lift items weighing 25 to 50 pounds.
Ability to operate equipment such as meat and cheese slicers, scales, and cash registers.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to understand and follow company procedures and regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.
Courteous and efficient approach to handling customer requests, questions, and complaints.
Deli counter or food preparation experience may be required.

Nice To Haves

One year of deli or kitchen experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide responsive, exceptional service to deli counter customers by answering questions, making recommendations, offering samples, and responding to requests.
Recommend, slice, weigh, package, and price meats and cheeses.
Prepare sandwiches, subs, salads, and other cold items for resale.
Prepare special orders and party trays.
Prepare work areas for customer service by cleaning surfaces, equipment, and floors, removing trash, and checking that tools are in working order.
Follow company and regulatory food-safety and sanitation procedures.
Cooperate with others to ensure customer satisfaction.
Perform other tasks and duties as assigned or required.
