About The Position

The Deli Clerk slices, packages, weighs, and sells deli products, including meats and cheeses. The role maintains the presentation and cleanliness of the deli and its display cases, and assists Members with product selection, questions, and special orders. The position also receives, inspects, stocks, rotates, and stores deli products in accordance with food-safety, freshness, handling, and company quality standards. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

• Experience operating manual or power slicers and scales.
• Knowledge of deli products.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of service to Members, answer questions, recommend deli items, respond to Member calls, and take special orders.
• Slice, package, and weigh deli products, help Members select products, offer samples, and prepare special orders and party trays.
• Receive and inspect deli shipments; display, stock, rotate, and store products according to food-safety, freshness, and product-handling procedures.
• Check products daily for freshness and expiration dates, follow product salvage procedures, and ensure products meet company quality standards.
• Maintain a variety of products on deli cooler shelves and in display cases, stocking and rotating items as needed.
• Operate deli equipment safely and in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
• Clean and sanitize deli equipment and food surfaces, including rotisserie ovens, cooking utensils, refrigerated cases, and the deli cooler.
• Ensure scale systems work properly and products are weighed and priced accurately.
• Follow club policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Support a safe, positive, inclusive, and collaborative environment; address Member concerns and contribute to daily service and club standards.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
