About The Position

The Deli Clerk slices, packages, weighs, and sells deli products such as meats and cheeses. The role maintains the deli’s cleanliness and presentation, assists Members with product selection and questions, and helps ensure products are fresh, accurately priced, and handled safely. The position is scheduled Thursday through Sunday between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.

Nice To Haves

• Work experience in a deli department.
• Prior experience operating manual or power slicers and scales.
• Knowledge of deli products.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service, answer questions, recommend deli items, and help Members select products.
• Answer Member calls and take special orders.
• Slice, package, and weigh deli products, including meats and cheeses; ensure items are weighed and priced accurately.
• Sample products to help Members make purchasing decisions.
• Prepare and package special orders and party trays.
• Receive and inspect deli shipments.
• Display, stock, rotate, and store products according to food-safety, freshness, and handling policies.
• Ensure products are fresh and meet company quality standards; check daily for outdated products and follow salvage procedures.
• Maintain a wide variety of products on deli cooler shelves and in display cases.
• Operate deli equipment according to safety policies and procedures.
• Clean and sanitize deli equipment and food surfaces, including rotisserie ovens, cooking utensils, refrigerated cases, and the deli cooler.
• Ensure scale systems are in working order.
• Follow club policies and procedures, support compliance, and maintain a safe and positive environment for Members and team members.
• Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Deliver service in line with GOLD Member Standards and help maintain daily club standards.
