Deli Clerk Part Time
About The Position
The Deli Clerk slices, packages, weighs, and sells deli products, including meats and cheeses. The role maintains the presentation and cleanliness of the deli and its display cases, and assists Members with product questions, recommendations, and purchases. It also involves preparing special orders and party trays, receiving and handling shipments, maintaining product freshness and quality, operating deli equipment safely, and keeping food-contact surfaces and equipment clean and sanitized. The position supports club policies and procedures, delivers member service, and contributes to a safe, positive, inclusive team environment. Team members may perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.

- Prior experience operating manual or power slicers and scales.
- Knowledge of deli products.
Responsibilities
- Provide a high level of customer service, answer Member questions, recommend deli items, answer calls, and take special orders.
- Slice, package, and weigh deli products, including cheeses and meats; help Members select products, offer samples, and prepare special orders and party trays.
- Receive and inspect deli shipments; display, stock, rotate, and store products according to food-safety, freshness, and handling procedures.
- Check products daily for freshness and expiration dates, follow product salvage procedures, and ensure products meet company quality standards.
- Maintain a variety of products on deli cooler shelves and in display cases, stocking and rotating items as needed.
- Operate and handle deli equipment according to safety policies and procedures.
- Clean and sanitize deli equipment and food surfaces, including rotisserie ovens, cooking utensils, refrigerated cases, and the deli cooler.
- Ensure scale systems are working and items are weighed and priced accurately.
- Maintain club policies and procedures and support daily GOLD Member and club standards.
- Work as a team to maintain stocked merchandise, execute promotional plans, keep signage accurate, and maintain clean, organized spaces.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including work in other departments as needed.
