About The Position

As a Deli Clerk, you prepare fresh food and provide welcoming, friendly, and efficient customer service. You help customers select deli meats, cheeses, hot foods, and prepared items; take orders; slice meats; and prepare grab-and-go options. You also keep the department stocked, clean, organized, and ready throughout the day by preparing hot and cold items, maintaining displays, and monitoring product freshness and temperature. The work is active and fast-paced, involving customer orders, restocking, and use of food preparation equipment.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to operate slicers and food preparation equipment after training and in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Basic math skills for weighing, portioning, and transactions.
• Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Comfort standing for extended periods, lifting products up to 35 pounds, and working in varying temperatures.
• Clear communication skills for taking orders in person or by phone.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Prior food service or customer service experience.
• Experience preparing deli products, including slicing, assembling, and portioning.
• Knowledge of deli meats, cheeses, prepared foods, and hot case items.
• Experience processing transactions and making change using register systems.

Responsibilities
