About The Position

The Deli Clerk slices, packages, weighs, and sells deli products such as meats and cheeses; helps Members choose products; and maintains the presentation and cleanliness of the deli, including display cases. The role provides customer service, answers questions and calls, takes special orders, and prepares items such as party trays. It also involves receiving and inspecting shipments, stocking and rotating products, monitoring freshness and quality, and following food-safety, product-handling, and company policies. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Nice To Haves

• Work experience in a deli department.
• Prior experience operating manual or power slicers and scales.
• Knowledge of deli products.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service, answer Member questions, recommend deli items, answer calls, and take special orders.
• Slice, package, and weigh deli products, including meats and cheeses; help Members select products; provide samples; and prepare special orders and party trays.
• Receive and inspect deli shipments, then display, stock, rotate, and store products according to food-safety, freshness, and handling procedures.
• Check products daily for expiration and follow product salvage procedures; ensure products meet company quality standards.
• Maintain a variety of products in deli cooler shelves and display cases, stocking and rotating items as needed.
• Operate and handle deli equipment according to safety policies and procedures.
• Clean and sanitize deli equipment and food-contact surfaces, including rotisserie ovens, cooking utensils, refrigerated cases, and the deli cooler.
• Ensure scale systems work properly and items are weighed and priced accurately.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Support club standards by keeping items stocked, executing promotional plans, maintaining accurate signage, and keeping the area clean and organized.
• Maintain a safe and positive environment, work collaboratively, and address or escalate Member concerns as appropriate.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
