About The Position

The Deli Clerk slices, packages, weighs, and sells deli products such as meats and cheeses, maintains deli displays and cleanliness, and assists Members. The role provides customer service, answers questions and calls, recommends products, and prepares special orders and party trays. It also involves receiving and inspecting shipments, stocking and rotating products, checking freshness and quality, operating deli equipment safely, and maintaining food-safe and sanitary work areas. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function. Other duties may be assigned, including working in other departments as needed.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.

• Work experience in a deli department.
• Prior experience operating manual or power slicers and scales.
• Knowledge of deli products.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service to Members, answer questions, recommend deli items, answer calls, and take special orders.
• Slice, package, and weigh deli products, help Members select products, offer samples, and prepare special orders and party trays.
• Receive and inspect deli shipments; display, stock, rotate, and store products according to food safety, freshness, and handling procedures.
• Ensure products are fresh and meet company quality standards; check for out-of-date products daily and follow salvage procedures.
• Maintain a variety of products on deli cooler shelves and in display cases, stocking and rotating items as needed.
• Operate and handle deli equipment according to safety policies and procedures.
• Clean and sanitize deli equipment and food surfaces, including rotisserie ovens, cooking utensils, refrigerated cases, and the deli cooler.
• Ensure scale systems are working and products are weighed and priced accurately.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and support club standards.
• Perform other assigned duties, including work in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
