About The Position

The Deli Clerk slices, packages, weighs, and sells deli products such as meats and cheeses; maintains the presentation and cleanliness of deli displays and work areas; and assists Members with questions, recommendations, product selection, and special orders. The role also receives and inspects shipments, keeps products fresh and properly stocked, and operates deli equipment in accordance with food-safety and safety procedures. Team Members are expected to support club policies and standards, provide friendly service, work collaboratively, and maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

• Work experience in a deli department.
• Prior experience operating manual or power slicers and scales.
• Knowledge of deli products.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service to Members, answer questions, recommend deli items, and help Members select products.
• Answer Member calls and take special orders.
• Slice, package, and weigh deli products, including cheeses and meats; ensure items are weighed and priced accurately.
• Offer product samples to assist Members with purchasing decisions.
• Prepare and package special orders and party trays.
• Receive and inspect deli shipments.
• Display, stock, rotate, and store deli products according to food-safety, freshness, and handling policies and procedures.
• Ensure products are fresh and meet company quality standards; check daily for outdated products and follow salvage procedures.
• Keep deli cooler shelves and display cases stocked with a wide variety of products.
• Operate and handle deli equipment according to safety policies and procedures; ensure scale systems are working.
• Clean and sanitize deli equipment and food surfaces, including rotisserie ovens, cooking utensils, refrigerated cases, and the deli cooler.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and GOLD service and club standards.
• Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
