About The Position

The Deli Clerk slices, packages, weighs, and sells deli products, including meats and cheeses, and helps Members select products, answer questions, and place special orders. The role also prepares party trays and product samples, receives and inspects shipments, and ensures deli products are fresh, correctly priced, and displayed and stored according to company standards and food-safety procedures.

The Deli Clerk maintains clean and sanitized deli equipment, food surfaces, display cases, and cooler areas; operates equipment safely; and helps ensure scales are working accurately. The position supports club policies, customer service, GOLD Member and club standards, and may include duties in other departments. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.

• Work experience in a deli department.
• Experience operating manual or power slicers and scales.
• Knowledge of deli products.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality customer service to Members, answer questions, recommend deli items, respond to calls, and take special orders.
• Slice, package, and weigh deli products, including meats and cheeses, and help Members choose products.
• Offer product samples and prepare and package special orders and party trays.
• Receive and inspect deli shipments; display, stock, rotate, and store products according to food-safety, freshness, and handling procedures.
• Check daily for out-of-date products and follow product salvage policies and procedures.
• Maintain a wide variety of products on deli cooler shelves and in display cases, and restock and rotate products as needed.
• Operate deli equipment safely and in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
• Clean and sanitize deli equipment and food-contact surfaces, including rotisserie ovens, cooking utensils, refrigerated cases, and the deli cooler.
• Ensure scale systems are working and products are weighed and priced accurately.
• Follow club policies and procedures and support a safe, positive, clean, and organized environment.
• Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
